Catering guide · 2026–27 UAE event catering calendar 2026–27
Quick answer
The busiest catering dates in the UAE for 2026–27 are Diwali (8 November 2026), UAE National Day (2–3 December), December year-end parties, Christmas and New Year, then Ramadan (expected from about 8 February 2027) and Eid al-Fitr (about 9–10 March 2027). Book four to six weeks ahead for peak dates.
Why the calendar matters for catering
In the UAE, demand for catering isn't spread evenly through the year. From October to April the weather is cooler and events pile up: Diwali, National Day, year-end parties, Christmas and New Year all land within about eight weeks, followed by Ramadan and Eid. Book late in those weeks and you choose from what's left. This calendar lists the occasions people most often cater for, their dates and how early to book.

October and November: Halloween, Diwali and Thanksgiving
Halloween (31 October) is mostly children's parties and themed house parties: finger food, mild dishes for children and something proper for the adults. See party catering.
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. Menus are mostly vegetarian, with snacks and sweets to share, and many families host on the weekend around it. See Diwali catering and our Diwali food guide.
Thanksgiving is Thursday 26 November 2026. In the UAE it is usually celebrated by American and other expat families and friends on the nearest weekend, as a roast-style dinner.
December: National Day, year-end parties, Christmas and New Year
December is the most crowded month. UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad) is a public holiday on 2 and 3 December 2026, and offices celebrate in the days before it. Year-end office parties cluster in the first three weeks of December, then come Christmas and New Year's Eve. If your company holds a December party, fix the date and book in October or early November. See National Day catering and year-end party catering.
February and March: Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027. Iftar catering is in demand every evening of the month, especially at weekends and in the last ten days. Corporate iftars need booking four to six weeks ahead. Eid al-Fitr is expected around 9 or 10 March 2027, when families host lunches and open houses. See iftar catering, our corporate iftar guide and Eid catering.
May to September: Eid al-Adha, graduations and the new academic year
Eid al-Adha is expected around 16 or 17 May 2027. Graduation season runs from May into June. Summer is quieter as many residents travel, then orientation weeks bring campus events from late August. See university event catering.
Events that happen all year
Weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, business meetings and corporate events happen in every month, though weddings and outdoor events are concentrated in the cooler months. See wedding catering, family gatherings, business meetings and corporate events.
