The lunch problem in Silicon Oasis

Dubai Silicon Oasis is full of offices, business centres and tech companies, and most of them hit the same wall around 1 PM. Everyone orders at once, riders queue at the same buildings, and lunch turns up late, or not until after the next meeting. Then it happens again tomorrow, with the same daily question of what to order and the same delivery fees.

There are three common ways to fix it: order in every day, bring food from home, or get lunch delivered before the workday starts. This guide walks through what each one costs you in time and money, and how to set up the third.

Three ways to sort office lunch

• Ordering in every day. The most choice, but you decide every day, pay delivery and service fees on each order, and depend on the lunchtime rush.
• Bringing lunch from home. Low cost on ingredients, but it needs time to cook and pack, which is exactly what most people working in DSO are short of.
• A morning meal plan delivery. Your meals arrive before work, so lunch is already on your desk or in the office fridge when you get hungry. You pay one plan price and choose your meals ahead in an app.

How Messify office lunch delivery works

1. Pick a plan. 1, 2 or 3 meals a day, weekly or monthly. Many office workers start with 1 meal a day for lunch, or 2 for lunch and dinner.
2. Choose tomorrow's meals by 6 PM. The menu changes every day, and you see it in the Messify app the day before.
3. Get your bag every morning. All of the day's meals arrive together in one chilled bag with an ice pack, delivered to your office or your home in Silicon Oasis.
4. Reheat and eat. Meals are blast-chilled after cooking, so keep lunch cold until you're ready, then reheat it for a few minutes.

Meals are cooked fresh every day in our partner kitchen in nearby International City. Every meal is 100% halal, and there's a vegetarian option every day, for every meal.

What it costs

Messify meal plans start from AED 25 a meal. For a working lunch, these are the usual starting points:

• 1 meal a day, weekly: AED 215. The easiest way to try office lunch delivery for a week.
• 1 meal a day, monthly: AED 715. 26 days of meals to use within 30 days, AED 27.50 a meal.
• 2 meals a day, monthly: AED 1,400. Lunch at work and dinner at home, AED 26.92 a meal.

To see how that compares with what you spend on delivery apps, use our meal plan vs ordering in calculator. Every price is on our meal plans in Dubai page.

Weekends, leave and days you work from home

Office weeks are rarely the same. With Messify, every meal is a token: skip a day in the app and use that meal later in your plan. Weekly plans give you 9 days to use 7 days of meals, and monthly plans give you 30 days to use 26 days of meals, which leaves room for weekends, leave and days at home.

Lunch for the whole team

If several people in your office want lunch sorted, a team plan keeps it simple: one monthly plan, one morning delivery for everyone, and each person still chooses their own meals in the app. Message us on WhatsApp with your team size and office location and we'll set it up.

Planning a one-off meeting lunch, a launch or a company event instead? That's catering: custom menus quoted by headcount, with buffet setups if you want them. See corporate catering in Dubai.

A quick checklist before you start

1. Confirm delivery to your building. Message us your building in DSO and we'll confirm the drop-off point.
2. Check there's a fridge and a microwave at the office, or a pantry you can use.
3. Decide on 1 or 2 meals a day: lunch only, or lunch plus dinner at home.
4. Try a week first, then move to monthly for a lower price per meal.
